Tunkuwallin Oval Precinct Plan

Community engagement for precinct plan

Case study

Client.

Central Coast Council

Services.

Description.

Central Coast Council engaged Mara to lead community and stakeholder engagement for the Tunkuwallin Oval Precinct Plan. The plan was the first stage in improving facilities for a range of sports and recreational activities. The project created a more accessible and inclusive shared recreation space for the community.

Engagement approach.

We delivered a two-phase engagement program that balanced community input with planning and environmental constraints. Phase one focused on insight gathering through digital promotion, a project inbox, letterbox drops to nearby residents and targeted briefings with stakeholders and internal teams. Phase two tested options by releasing two concept designs informed by early feedback, supported by an interactive map and materials on Council’s digital engagement platforms.

Community feedback shaped the final Tunkuwallin Oval Precinct Plan. Construction was completed in 2021.
